Painting Watercolor from Photographs

Instructor: L Jeffrey Andrews

prerequisites: Beginning Drawing and Beginning Watercolor or equivalents

The purpose of this course is to teach the skills necessary to make a complete watercolor painting.  With this goal in mind, we will be working from photographs.

Photographs provide an artist the opportunity to work with subject matter that might be difficult to paint from life.  Whether it be a parade scene, a portrait, or a photo from your travels, students will learn how to identify the things that excite them in their photograph and translate that to watercolor.

This class is best suited to students who already have some experience with watercolor, but struggle to pull together a final image.
