Patti Adams has worked as a calligrapher in New Orleans for over twenty-five years. She is a member of the New Orleans Lettering Arts Association, an award-winning signature member of the Louisiana Watercolor Society and was owner and art director of the Garden District Gallery from 2009-2015. Her work has been featured in Bon Appetit, Southern Living and Victoria magazines and locally at Galatoire’s Restaurant, Pickwick Club and Windsor Court Hotel. Patti is the calligrapher for the Krewes of Rex, Comus, Proteus and Mithras, has created numerous honorary scrolls, ball Invitations and was honored to do the artwork for the 2008 Rex Proclamation. She has designed and produced many commissions for individuals and organizations including the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, the American Harp Society, the National Flute Association, Northwestern University’s Bienen School of Music in Chicago and the New Orleans Opera, including the scenic projections for their 2010 production of Mozart’s The Magic Flute. She has studied calligraphy with Denis Brown, Georgia Angelopoulos and Reggie Ezell. She received her fine art training at the New Orleans Academy of Fine Art with Auseklis Ozols, where she now teaches courses on Color & Design, Calligraphy and Gold Leaf Gilding. In her parallel artistic life, she is a founding member and flutist with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra and has been on the music faculty of Loyola University’s College of Music and Fine Arts since 1997.
