Laura Richens was born and raised in Memphis, TN. She received her BA in Studio Art from Rhodes College, and her MA in Art History from the University of Memphis. She has taught printmaking and letterpress at the Penland School of Craft in North Carolina, and various print workshops in the New Orleans area. She has exhibited in group exhibitions at Delgado Community College, Loyola University, Antenna Gallery; Barrister’s Gallery, NOCCA, Staple Goods, and the Contemporary Arts Center in New Orleans; Tall Grass Arts Association in Forest Park, IL; Coastal Carolina University; and the Bereznitsky Gallery in Berlin. She serves as Curator of the Carroll Gallery and Adjunct Professor in the Newcomb Art Department of Tulane University. She is on the host committee for the College Book Art Association Conference that will be held in New Orleans in Jan. 2020.
