Kinzey Branham was an instructor in figure & portrait sculpture, ceramic sculpture and mold making at the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts from 1986 until 2006. He started sculpting professionally and full-time in 1983. A native of Washington, Georgia, he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the University of Georgia in 1979 and an MFA from LSU in 1985. He taught at LSU's School of Art and worked in its anthropology department as a sculptor of forensic reconstruction. Following Hurricane Katrina he left New Orleans to teach at the Lamar Dodd School of Art at the University of Georgia, and was an instructor at UGA's study abroad program in Italy for several years.

Kinzey's work is represented internationally in public and private collections.
