Color Theory & Design
Instructor: Auseklis Ozols
This class is an introduction to the essentials of color theory and basic design. The student is introduced to various approaches to color perception, both historical and current. Each class consists of lectures in the form of demonstrations and experiments, as well as students working on their own design based on the specific lesson for each class. The student works toward the mastery of color mixtures and harmonies to be executed in a series of original designs. The class works in gouache.
Attendance of the first class is mandatory.
Each week students will be given a homework assignment, and the beginning of the next class is dedicated to a group critique of those projects.
