Art Fair & Open House

ART FOR SALE:  meet over 30 artists selling their work directly to the public (indoors and outdoors)
Please bring cash or checks for great bargains, since most artists are not set up to accept credit cards.

GET A GLIMPSE OF WHAT HAPPENS IN OUR CLASSES/SEE ART IN ACTION:

  • starting at 9:30am:
    Plein Air Painting Demonstration
    Painting instructor Phil Sandusky will demonstrate the art of plein air landscape painting right outside our building on Magazine Street. He will also have some of his class demo plein air paintings available for sale.

  • 10:30am until lunchtime
    Abstract Monotype Print Demonstration & Mini Workshop
    Our abstract painting instructors Nell Tilton and Zona Wainwright will demonstrate the art of monotype printing, followed by people trying their own hand at the process under their guidance. Come get involved or just watch!

  • 1 - 3 pm:
    The Magic of Calligraphy Come to Life
    Our calligraphy instructor Patti Adams will take requests of names or phrases up to 3 words and show calligraphy in action for beautiful mementos to take home. See a master at work with her tools of the trade!

PHOTO BOOTH: cast yourself as Mona Lisa, in American Gothic or The Scream for a fun souvenir to take home

STUDENT SHOW: our popular annual student show will be on display in our two indoor gallery spaces. See and purchase art work our students have created throughout this year.

KIDS STATION: There will be a kids activities tent with drawing, painting, crafts, sidewalk chalk drawing, bubbles, popcorn machine, drinks and snacks. Join Arabella and Georgina, who will guide kids through fun arts-related activities!

Take advantage of this Open House to see our facility, learn about our program and talk to us about our upcoming portfolio class specifically designed for high school students to assist with preparing your portfolio for college admissions or otherwise.
