Zack Smith has been documenting the social landscapes that surround him for the past 12 years, and since 2000, has focused his energies on New Orleans and Southwestern Louisiana. Smith specializes in environmental portraiture, performance, and street documentary photography.
Smith was a photography instructor at The New Orleans Academy of Fine Art for many years. He is also staff photographer at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, The French Quarter Festival, The Murphy Institute of Political Economy and The Center for Ethics and Public Affairs at Tulane University, The Tulane University Marching Band, KidSmArt, and collaborator with The Canary Collective.
