
Richard Sexton will be participating in the inaugural exhibition of the Ogden Museum of Southern Art's new satellite facility in WaterColor Florida. The Artists' reception is Saturday, July 26th from 5 - 7 pm. Mr. Sexton will also be delivering a lecture the following Thursday, July 31 at 5 pm. If you have plans to be in Florida ths summer, do consider seeing this exhibit. It will be up through mid-September. WaterColor is in Walton County, Florida on Highway 30A, about 12 miles east of Destin. The Ogden's WaterColor site is located on the ground floor, northeast corner of the Town Center Building on Watercolor Boulevard. Phil Sandusky's third book, Jacksonville through a Painter's Eyes, is due for release August 15th, 2008. It will be published by Pelican Publishing Company.

Diego Larguia has joined the faculty of the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts. Mr. Larguia is an alumnus of the Academy, and he has also studied with artists such as Don Anderson and Jerome Weinberger. Diego will be teaching Beginning Oil Painting as of this fall semester.

The Louisiana State Archives and the Secretary of State will be hosting 40 Days and 40 Nights, an exhibit in honor of New Orleans Painters, Sculptors, Writers, Photographers, Musicians and Thespians. The multi-faceted exhibit will feature live music, dramatic spectacle, a fine arts display, and a photography display. New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts' Creative Director, Saskia Ozols Eubanks, is the Curator of Fine Arts. Victoria Ryan and Owen Murphy are the Curators of Photography. The Fine Arts and Photography portions of the exhibit will include several members of the NOAFA faculty. The opening reception is on Saturday, August 9th from 6 - 9 at the Louisian State Archives Building in Baton Rouge (rom I-10 or I-12, exit to Essen Lane and turn at the Louisiana State Archives Building on Archives Avenue).
