Intermediate Drawing

Instructor: Darrell Brown

Prerequisites: Beginning Drawing or equivalent

This course is the direct continuation of Beginning Drawing. The student continues to work on perspective, the pattern of value and the effect of light on objects. Line quality, texture and pattern are studied from still life arrangements, which include organic form as well as everyday objects with an emphasis on composition and the emotional quality of a drawing. Materials include graphite and charcoal.

This class takes place in our 2nd floor drawing studio. You will be straddling a wooden drawing bench without back during class (see classroom photos below). We are able to make other accommodations if necessary: please contact us well in advance of the beginning of your class to discuss alternatives.
