Calligraphy Course Description
Calligraphy is the art of beautiful handwriting. The word derives from the ancient Greek: kallos meaning "beauty" and graphẽ "writing". It is the art of giving form to letters in an expressive, harmonious and skillful manner.
Creative Calligraphy will require no prerequisite and is open to everyone wanting to improve their calligraphic skills! We will study several hands, including italic and copperplate, focusing on consistent size, shape, slant and spacing of the letterforms and layout design as you create your own artwork. The course will focus on individual guided student practice and will include instructor demonstrations and viewing of many samples of calligraphic art.
All levels of students are welcome to attend this class, including beginning students without any prior calligraphy experience or instruction.
