About Brent Barnidge

My work has always been rooted in traditional figurative sculpture.  More recently, however,  I have employed high relief sculpture as a broader landscape for my art. I find it provides a unique means with which to explore a complexity of ideas.

I began my art career as a carnival sculptor here in New Orleans in 1999.  Since then, I have sculpted for clients nation wide, including museums, nature centers and the movie industry.  Commissions have included figurative works for the Free Canteen Memorial in Streator, IL, Pompey’s Pillar National Memorial in Billings, MT and the Point Vincente Interpretive Center in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA.

I also received two graduate degrees: University of New Orleans, MBA, 1995 and Louisiana State University, MS, 1999.
