Nestled in the woods on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain in Mandeville, Louisiana, Laura spends most of her days in her studio recording the world around her. Pursuing her passion for painting, her medium of choice is watercolor. After retiring from a successful career in education as a teacher, supervisor and administrator, she resumed her first love of painting in 1998. She received signature status with the Louisiana Watercolor Society in 2009. She has participated in juried and small group shows in Mississippi, Texas and Louisiana and has received numerous awards. Her paintings are in permanent and private collections across the United States. Laura teaches beginning, intermediate and advanced watercolor classes at the New Orleans Academy of Fine Art.
