About Terrington Calas

Terrington Calas has exhibited his paintings since 1981, notably at the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Contemporary Arts Center and Galerie Simonne Stern, where he is an affiliated artist. In addition to his NOAFA courses, he teaches art history and philosophy at LSU and Loyola in alternate semesters. Formerly chief art critic for The Times Picayune, he is now critic with The New Orleans Art Review. Among his awards are two NEA grants, one for painting and one for criticism. He has taught art history at the Academy since 1985 and painting since 1988.
