Sculpture Courses

Figure Sculpture

An introduction to the modeling of the figure using clay. The geometry of the figure, its anatomy and their relation to gravity are studied. Techniques of proportion, dynamics and armature construction are taught. Composition, proportion, form, volume, weight and surface modeling are emphasized. The student works toward a more personal expression through the mastery of fundamentals.

Portrait Sculpture

An introduction to the modeling of a three dimensional portrait in clay. The class works from a live model. Various modeling techniques, methods of measurement and basic anatomy are discussed.
